What is the Privacy Statement?

Cineville is the collective film platform of independent film theatres in the Netherlands, which have joined forces to form Vereniging Cineville (Antwoordnummer 11689, 1000 RA Amsterdam, KVK:34316723) in order to stimulate film visits to quality films. The Cineville Association is what we mean when we talk about "we" or "Cineville".

In this privacy statement we explain what data we collect and process and what your rights are in this respect.

What's Cineville? Cineville is the collective film platform for more than 70 independent movie theaters and cinemas in the Netherlands. Cineville offers services including the Cineville card, a subscription whose Terms and Conditions can be found here, and the website www.cineville.nl, where you can find the movie theaters' shared offerings.

In order to provide Cinevillepas holders and other film lovers with the best possible service through our website, we collect a number of user data via www.cineville.nl For the output of the film subscription we also need (personal) data. Below you can read what data we collect and why.

What information is collected by Cineville?

Cineville card

If you have a Cineville card, you can go to the movies in all the connected cinemas for a fixed amount per month without restriction. Because your Cinevillepas is personal, we need a number of personal details: your postal address (so that we know where we can send your card and any payment reminders or other important mail), your name, date of birth and passport photo (these are on your Cinevillepas and are also shown digitally to the cashier - this enables the film theatres to check whether your card is only used by you) and your payment details (so that you can automatically pay the subscription fee each month).

If you use your Cinevillepas to go to the movies, your card will be scanned at the entrance of the movie theatre. The details of your visit (the film you visited, the specific performance and the film theatre) are then sent to our secure database. This data will be used by Cineville to reimburse film theatres and film distributors for your visit, to give you a good overview of all the films you have visited (your visit history can be found on cineville.co.uk under your account) and to be able to give you personalized film tips.

Your data will be anonymised and aggregated in order to map out the cardholder file and the visiting behaviour of cardholders. Only Cineville, film distributors and film theatres affiliated with Cineville have insight into these analyses. In this way, we help film theatres and film distributors to understand their visitors and to respond better to the wishes of the audience.

**Messages about your film visit **

We can send you a message about your film visit, for example after your visit or to inform you that a performance for which you have booked has been cancelled. If you use your card to make a reservation via the Cineville website or the website of one of the film theatres, we can send you a message about your reservation - for example, when to pick up your reservation or how to cancel it.

Website

When you visit a website, your computer automatically sends some data to the server. For example, your IP address, the browser with which you visit the website, the operating system of your computer and the page you visit. This also happens on our website.

If you've created an account on our website, you can use it to put movies on your watchlist, view and manage the reservations you've made, set your movie calendar preferences, manage your subscription, and more. To create an account we ask you for your email address. You can link this email address to your Cinevillepas, so that your visit history automatically appears in your account.

In addition, we store how you use our website, for example, which pages you visit and which movies you put on your watchlist, so that we can optimize the user experience and possibly give you personal tips.

If you have signed up, we will use the email address and first name you have entered to send you newsletters and offers. If you no longer wish to receive a newsletter, you can unsubscribe at the bottom of any e-mail.
