A Modern Roma Fairytale

As the granddaughter of a Roma king, ten-year-old Nicoleta will, just like her grandmother, mother and aunt, live in a palace filled with glitter and gold. She will raise her children there one day, a shiny car will be parked outside, and her future husband will provide an income from the outside world. These are the traditions the young girl is growing up with in her closed Kalderash community in Romania.

From the perspective of the inquisitive Nicoleta, this documentary reveals how that fairytale simultaneously means a life full of boundaries.
